Tejasa Halpin
My yoga journey began before I could even walk. At just three months old, I was named Tejasa by Gurumayi, the head of the Siddha Yoga lineage. Raised in a family deeply devoted to the Siddha Yoga path, my childhood was filled with weekly chanting and meditation Satsangs that became the foundation of my spiritual life.
Throughout my life, the teachings of Siddha Yoga have been a guiding light. As a teenager, I offered seva (selfless service) at the annual Siddha Yoga meditation retreats in Australia. These retreats were immersive experiences, filled with long days of meditation, chanting, and courses led by Swamis. Additionally, I offered seva at the Sydney Ashram, participating in the disciplined daily practices established by Baba Muktananda from his ashram in India.
These early experiences instilled in me a deep sense of gratitude for my spiritual upbringing, and I feel blessed to share this foundation with others through yoga.
In 2013, I completed my yoga teacher training at Yoga Flow in Pittsburgh. Since then, I have explored and studied nearly every modern yoga style, enabling me to bring diversity and depth to my classes. While I draw from many traditions, my focus is always on guiding students to connect with the essence of yoga—a union of body, mind, and spirit.
To me, yoga is not just a physical practice; it is meditative movement. Through surrender and the power of breath, we can unfold each movement with intention and allow the love within us to expand. My goal is to help students deepen their practice, moving beyond the surface to discover the transformative potential of yoga.
Yoga, at its heart, is union—a journey inward that ultimately connects us to the world around us.
